In this episode, Tracey and Scott discuss one of their dining must-do’s at Walt Disney World: The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They describe the restaurant, share the audio from the film loop and do a bit of armchair imagineering to suggest improvements. Our co-hosts also share their thoughts on the Disney In Concert: Magical Music from the Movies event they attended last month in Cincinnati. They wrap up the show with a call over to the Main Street Cinema and a report from a listener who attended the 24 hr One More Disney Day event in Disneyland.
The time has come, my little friends, to talk of other things
Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings
And why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wigs
Calloo, Callay, come run away
With the cabbages and kings.
Well, we don’t have much on cabbages and kings, but we do have a lot of Alice to make up for that! In episode number 94 of the Disney, Indiana podcast our hosts get lost in Wonderland and they take a look at both the 1951 and 2010 Disney Alice and Wonderland films. They take a look at each film’s creation, story, music and history before they put them head to head to find out which they enjoy more.
Buzzy over at WWED joins in the madness as well by sharing some songs from both Alice in Wonderland versions, including a rare recording from the 1950 Disney special “One Hour in Wonderland”.
Tracey and Scott are not finished with Alice after they leave Wonderland either. They turn their attention to the Alice Comedies created by Walt Disney in the 1920s in this month’s Salute to Shorts segment.
They wrap up the show with a call over to the Main Street Cinema and some listener feedback. It’s all here in episode 94.
There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter. Luckily, we are!
Welcome to Disney, Indiana!
