Queen Amidala's Naboo escape gown from Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Handmade lace and vintage jet (gemstone) beads. The spiderweb lace that trims the front of this costume took more than a month to weave by hand. Art Nouveau forms inspired the motif at the base of the velvet overdress. A Wookie cooling suit made for the prequels from nylon, mesh and plastic. Chewy's costume - knitted wool topped with fifteen pounds of yak hair - was hot. In the originally trilogy, Peter Mayhew suffered through. For the prequel Wookiees the costumers developed this cooling suit.
